NFL Superstar Brandin Cooks Gives Back to his Hometown

Stockton, CA — On July 1, NFL star and Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, Brandin Cooks, hosted his 2nd Annual Youth Football Camp & Family Carnival at his alma mater, Lincoln High School in Stockton. The camp comes as part of this nine-year pros ongoing mission to positively impact underserved youth in his community.

“Being back in Stockton and hosting an event with these kids is something special. Without the love and support from my 209 family, I wouldn’t be who I am today,” said Cooks, “This place built me, and I am forever grateful. This is just one small way I can give back.”

The four-hour free event hosted over 175 kids ages 7 to 14. Campers learned fundamental football skills at eight different position stations. They had the opportunity to challenge their abilities and were able to learn directly from Cooks and his crew. The kids had the chance to explore new positions and were put to the test by their coaches.

After the camp, the kids and their families, over 500 people, enjoyed free carnival festivities, including delicious food trucks, face painters, and balloon artists. There were games in the grass area and a DJ to guide the dances for a picture-perfect moment. Camp sponsors included ERG Enterprises, David’s Pizza, Nike, and Super Water.

Originally from Stockton, Brandin has made it his mission to give back to his community and underserved youth. He strives to make a difference for kids who do not have access to essential resources and looks to empower these kids through the sport of football.
